THANK YOU JELVEH !!!

I'd like to dedicate this post to My Dear " Hocam " (Teacher) JELVEH JAFERIAN

As you know from previous post that she was here in Istanbul to teach for 2 weeks and I was honoured to be her Asistant during this 2 weeks. I knew I was going to learn so many things about bead making but I learned so many things about life as well. She is an extremely talented artist and has the biggest heart in the world full of love. She generously shared every things she knows with us .

"Jelvehjuun,
I'll never forget this two weeks and always remember all the fun we had together.
THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH for coming, teaching and being there for me and all of us.
YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!
I love you and miss you so much.
Best of wishes. "

Jelveh's Class in Glass Furnace was fantastic!!!

Hiii everyone.
I just got back from the Glass Furnace. I was there as Jelveh Jaferian's TA for her bead making class for the last two weeks. I feel really blessed and honoured that she has choosen me to be her TA. She is a "fantastic" teacher and an incredible woman. I'd like to thank her once again for choosing me as her assistant, hope I was able to help her a bit. (THANK YOU JELVEH!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!) She worked really hard, showed us tons of demos, thought us billions of things and we had soooo much fun at the same time. I met some wonderful people and it was really hard to say goodbye to them on the last day.

And I also would like to thank Yılmaz Yalçınkaya, the founder of Glass Furnace, for making this class come together, it was like a dream come true. He is such a generous person who works really hard to keep the school runing. I think Glass Furnace is one of the best Glass Schools in the world, an amazing home to all glass artists and glass lovers like myself. Hope you all have a chance to visit or take a class in this school some day. :)

Here is the class!!!

"Hiiiii class!!! :) How are you doing today? I can not tell you how happy I am to have met you all. I had a wonderful time and learned so many things with you. Hope you all arrived home safe and sound. You know what, Tufan called me a couple of minutes ago and told me that he sold his very first beads to a girl on the plane!!! Three of them!!! Can you believe it? I knew he was going to start making biiiiiiiiiiiig money as soon as he got home but I wasn't expecting him to be that quick!!! Woow!!! I've allready started to miss you all guys!!! Take care and don't forget to write me soon. :)"

Well, I need to go back to work now. I don't know when I can start to torch again since I have so many things to finish here at the office. :(

See you later.

This part is for non English speaking people in the class. :)

" Herkese Merhabaaaaaa.
Sevgiler,
Ilknur. "

New Beads!!!

I am so happy that I was able to torch again last week. Here are some beads I made using copper green red and silver leaf. I really liked the results! Especially the colors on the bead in the middle of this set turned out very organic.

And here is another set I made using exactly the same colors but without silver leaf.
Isn't that interesting? It is, for me anyway. :)

I think these are going to be my last beads before I go to Glass Furnace this weekend for my two weeks workshop. Hope to see you later with more beads.
